Sign up for 2020 Kaiser Permanente Washington coverage
Once you've enrolled in Medicare Parts A and B, you can enroll in a Kaiser Permanente Medicare Advantage (HMO) health plan in your area. Contact Social Security if you have any questions about your Medicare eligibility, or learn more about Medicare enrollment.
Important enrollment information
There are limits on when and how often you can change your Medicare coverage:
The initial enrollment period is 3 months before, the month of, and 3 months after your 65th birthday (or otherwise first become eligible for Medicare).
From October 15 through December 7, 2019, anyone with Medicare will have an opportunity to switch from one Medicare plan to another. Coverage is effective January 1, 2020.
From January 1 through March 31, 2020, anyone on a Medicare Advantage plan, including newly Medicare Advantage eligible individuals, may make a one-time election to go to another Medicare Advantage plan or Original Medicare. Individuals using the Open Enrollment Period to make a change may make a coordinating change to add or drop Part D coverage.
Switching from one Kaiser Permanente Medicare health plan to another counts as making a change. Generally, you can't make any other changes during the year except under special circumstances, such as if you move out of the plan's service area or are eligible for Medicaid coverage.
